Celebration of “World Food Day, 2010”
National Network on Right to Food, Nepal (RtFN) is going to celebrate World Food Day, 2010 by organizing weekly program from district level to central level with the help of own partners. If you are organizing any program in your area please inform us as soon as possible. Helping hands for right to food are needed.

खाद्य संप्रभुतालाई स्पष्ट व्याख्या हुनेगरी मौलिक हकको रुपमा नयाँ संविधानमा समावेश गरिनु पर्दछ

खाद्यअधिकारसम्बन्धी अन्तरकि्रया कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न

नेपालको अन्तरीम सम्बिधान २०६३ मा खाद्य संप्रभुतालाई मौलिक हकको रुपमा समाबेस गरिएको भएता पनि ूकानुनमा भए बमोजिमू भन्ने वाक्यांशले गर्दा उक्त हकको कार्यान्वयनको सुनिश्चितता हुन नसकेको सन्दर्भमा नयाँ संविधानमा जनताको खाद्य अधिकारलाई स्पष्ट व्याख्या हुने गरी समावेश गर्न संविधानसभाका सदस्य तथा राजनीतिक दलका नेताहरुलाई सुझाव दिने उद्देश्यका साथ खाद्य अधिकारका लागि राष्ट्रिय साजाल-नेपालले आज काठमाडौंमा एक अन्तरकि्रया कार्यक्रमको आयोजना गर्यो । उक्त कार्यक्रममा राजनीतिक दलका नेताहरु सभासदहरु मन्त्रालयका सम्बन्धित अधिकृतहरु कृषि विशेषज्ञहरु खाद्यअधिकार तथा मानवअधिकारकर्मीहरु लगायत ७० भन्दा बढी व्यक्तिहरुले भाग लिएका थिए ।

आइ.सी.इ.एस.सी.आर. को ऐच्छिक आलेखसम्बन्धी अन्तरक्रिया कार्यक्रम

आर्थिक, सामाजिक र सांस्कृतिक अधिकार अभिसन्धीको ऐच्छिक आलेखमा हस्ताक्षर तथा  अनुमोदन गर्न नेपाल सरकारलाई नागरिक समाजको आग्रह

आर्थिक सामाजिक तथा सांस्कृतिक अधिकार सम्वन्धी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय अभिसन्धिको ऐच्छिक आलेख सम्वन्धी अन्तरकि्रया कार्यक्रम यही जेठ ५ गते काठमाडौंमा सम्पन्न भयो । अन्तकि्रृया कार्यक्रमका सहभागीहरुले ऐच्छिक आलेखको दूरगामी र व्यापक महत्व रहेको र यसलाई हस्ताक्षर गरी संसदबाट पारित गराउन सरकारलाई्र सल्लाह सुझाव र दवाव दिने निर्णय गरियो । यसका साथै आर्थिक सामाजिक तथा सांस्कृतिक अधिकारसम्बन्धी महासन्धि तथा यससम्बन्धी ऐच्छिक आलेखका बारेमा आम जनमुदायमा जानकारी गराउनका लागि देशव्यापी अभियान संचालन गरिनु पर्ने कुरामा अन्तरकि्रया कार्यक्रमका सहभागीहरुले जोड दिए ।

नेपालको नया संविधान २०६७ मा नेपाली जनताको खाद्य अधिकार खाद्य सुरक्षा र खाद्य संप्रभुताको किटानी गर

नेपाल को अन्तरिम संविधान २०६३ को भाग ३ अन्तरगत १८ ३ मा ूप्रत्येक नागरिकलाई कानुनमा व्यावस्था भए वमोजिम खाद्य संप्रभुताको हक हुनेछू भनि उल्लेख गरिएको छ । यस संन्र्दभमा खाद्य अधिकारका लागि राष्ट्रिय संजाल नेपाल  (Right to Food  National Network Nepal) ले संविधान मा खाद्य अधिकार खाद्य सुरक्षा र खाद्य संप्रभुतालाई किटानीका साथ उल्ल्ोख गर्न माग गदै आएको छ । आगामी केही हप्ता भित्रै संविधानको मस्यौदा उपर छलफल गर्न संविधानसभाका  माननिय सदस्य ज्यूहरु आ-आफना जिल्लामा अन्तरकृया को लागि आउने कार्यक्रम रहेको बुझिएको छ । यस शुभअवशर लाई हदयमंग गरि हामी ल्भत ध्यचप मा संवद्ध संस्थाहरुले तपशिल बमोजिम को भुमिका निर्वाह गरि आम नेपाली नागरिकको खाद्य अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर्न थप योगदान पुर् याउनु हुन अनुरोध गर्दछु ।

Food output drops in Dailekh

Banke, Apr. 5 – Food production in Dailekh district has decreased this year due to drought and hailstone.

District Agriculture Development Office has informed the reduction in winter crop production would cause a shortage of around 7000 metric tons of food.

Farmers have become worried, as the district witnessed an excessive rainfall, the spread of various diseases and long spell of drought and heavy hailstone in winter. All the crops were damaged.

Prime Minister Assured to Incorporate Food Sovereignty as Fundamental Right in Upcoming Constitution

On the occasion of the 29th World Food Day, a Seminar on “Situation of Right to Food in Nepal and State’s Obligations” was organised by National Network on Right to Food, Nepal (RtFN). The speakers of the seminar discussed the present situation of right to food in Nepal and hailed the importance for ensuring  Food Sovereignty and right to food in the new constitution.

Winter drought affects food production

A joint assessment by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC), the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) has revealed that winter drought has led to a severe drop in crop production in Nepal, placing more than two million people at high risk of food insecurity.

Abject poverty led a mother to strangle her two daughters to death before killing herself in Bajhang of far-western Nepal last week, reports say.
